The sources of Volkov Commander were made available to the public.

Arvutimuuseum published an archive with the source codes of the legendary dos file manager Volkov Commander on GitHub. The repository includes the source versions 4.05 and 4.99.09 in assembly language, as well as the original zip archives with the preservation of file timestamps and the early binary version of the program.
The publication is accompanied by a comment by the author, Vsevolod Volkov, who said that the project was originally conceived as a small joke - a compact analogue of Norton Commander for weak PC/XT, but over time it has become a full-fledged and very popular file manager for dos.
